It’s been a hot summer in the UK. Sophie, UK Pub Co. Working Holiday Manager, spent 5 weeks soaking up the UK sunshine (no, we aren’t joking, the sun really was shining!)
She visited UK Pub Co. participants, our current hospitality venues, as well as some new ones. Sophie also coordinated video interviews plus a participant catch-up lunch. We work with hundreds of venues across the UK, so this trip was jam-packed to say the least!
The UK is thriving during the summer time and with no current restrictions, hospitality is back in full force.
Sophie has said, “I was so impressed by the high calibre of our hospitality partner venues. We have such a great range for our participants being able to give them the very best opportunities.”
Our fantastic partner venues include;
Country Clubs and Hotels in the gorgeous British countryside
Beautiful and expansive grounds, world-class restaurants and on site spas are some of the great features at some of our venues.
Central London Pubs and Hospitality Venues
If the bright lights of Soho, Clapham or the West End are calling your name, our central London venues will not disappoint. Experience in hospitality/venue management is essential for these fast-paced venues.
New Partnerships in Edinburgh
Many of our applicants request to be in the medieval city of Edinburgh. Sophie spent a few days exploring the city, scouting out new venues and chatting to lots of Scotsmen to provide new opportunities in this amazing city.
The UK Pub Co. Family
Meeting up with many of our participants, Sophie was able to confirm why the UK is such a great choice for a working holiday. Current UK Pub Co. participants are having an amazing time. They’ve been working hard, travelling Europe as well as heading to events such as Ed Sheeran at Wembley and the Ascot races.
Working at an Aussie inspired cafe in Clapham Common, London, Lily says living and working in the UK “is very hectic but in a fun way. There’s always something going on and the people are so nice. Everyone is always down for a drink or to go out so it’s very fun.”
Sasha chose the UK for her working holiday so she could set up a base for her European adventures. She says, “I want to travel to as many countries in Europe as possible. Living in the UK is like nothing I could ever imagine. The proximity to other capital cities in Europe is fantastic so I can just easily hop on a plane on my days off to places like Ireland or even Spain.”
Zac is working in a classic British pub in Soho, London and says, “With Covid starting to wind down I really wanted to get out there, travel, see the world, make new experiences and memories. To see more, head to the UK Pub Co. Instagram.
Working in the UK
Towards the end of Sophie’s trip, she met up with a number of participants for lunch and a fun day out in London.
Keep an eye out for our participant videos which will be released in the coming months. You can hear directly from our current participants about how great their experience has been.
